Actor Imran Khan, a nephew of Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, has been given a notice to leave India by October 28 after taking part in a protest at August Kranti Maidan in Mumbai. The matter is likely to reach the Bombay High Court.

The protest, held on October 10, demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Imran Khan took part in it and was detained by the police at the time. The question was then raised how a foreign national had come to take part in the protest.

Imran Khan is a citizen of the United States and holds an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card. On that basis he has been served the notice to leave India by October 28. It is reported that Imran's lawyers are preparing to file a petition in the Bombay High Court challenging the notice. All eyes are now on the stand the court will take in the matter.

Meanwhile, American singer Mary Millben has alleged that the CJP receives funds from the United States. CJP founder Abhijit Dipke responded to the allegations on social media. He asked that if Mary Millben, an American citizen, can speak in favour of the BJP, why OCI cardholder Imran Khan cannot speak against the BJP. Dipke had also taken the position that foreigners should not interfere in India's internal matters.

In his post, Abhijit Dipke wrote that Mary Millben, who is American, can speak in favour of the BJP, but Imran, who is an OCI cardholder, cannot say anything against the BJP. The post is dated October 15, 2026.

The notice served on Imran Khan on one side and the political controversy that has followed on the other have put the matter in the headlines. What happens to Imran's petition in court, and what is decided on the notice, remains to be seen.
