Delhi Police have arrested Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) national spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka, Saurabh Das and their associate Ajinkya Shinde. After the arrests, the three were produced before a special executive magistrate at the Mandir Marg police station, which sent them to jail in five days' judicial custody. Anger is being expressed over the arrests.
Reacting to the arrests, Abhijeet Dipke said he wanted to tell Narendra Modi that if an Emergency has to be imposed in the country, it should be announced officially. According to Dipke, CJP leaders are being put in jail for five days only for hoisting the tricolour at Jantar Mantar. He said even during the Emergency this had not happened, and asked since when hoisting the tricolour had come to be treated as a sin. Dipke said such cowardly conduct should stop and, if the government has the courage, it should formally declare an Emergency.
The party alleges that Saurabh, Ashutosh and Ajinkya Shinde were forcibly kept in detention a day earlier. According to the party, they were not even allowed to speak to their lawyers or families. In the morning, they were produced before the special magistrate at the Mandir Marg police station itself and sent to five days' judicial custody. The party says this repression is being carried out by making the mere hoisting of the national flag at Jantar Mantar a crime.
Asked about the serious allegations being made against the CJP, Dipke replied that the government should show evidence rather than merely make allegations. He said the power is in their hands, so they should investigate and prove it. He said these people are cowards and are hiding behind the police. Dipke asked angrily whether hoisting the tricolour at Jantar Mantar is a sin in Modi's rule.
Dipke also referred to Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. He said Narendra Modi is doing all this to protect Gyanesh Kumar, and that Gyanesh Kumar is rigging the election process to keep Narendra Modi in power. According to him, the CJP is fighting against this. Dipke also clarified that this does not mean the party is opposed to the INDIA bloc. He said his movement and the INDIA bloc's movement are for the same demand.
