Congress and Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) official candidate and MLA Abhijit Govindrao Vanjari has released his manifesto for the Nagpur division graduates' constituency election. Keeping graduates' rights, employment, examination reforms and skill development at the centre, he has laid out a blueprint for 'Mission Jobs' and 'Mission Exam'.

The manifesto has been prepared keeping in mind the problems of graduates, unemployed youth, teachers and employees in the six districts of eastern Vidarbha. Under employment and skill development, Vanjari has spoken of starting 'AI District Hubs' in these six districts for training in AI, data science and digital technology.

It also proposes building 'Graduates' Bhavans' named after Dr Srikant Jichkar at all six district headquarters. These buildings would have study rooms, e-libraries, career counselling centres and start-up incubators.

The manifesto promises to try to get unemployed youth an unemployment allowance of Rs 5,000 a month. It also speaks of giving local graduates a statutory guarantee of jobs in local industries, and assures job fairs on a large scale.

On the examination system, the manifesto promises strict steps to stop paper leaks in competitive examinations and to make the recruitment process transparent. It also speaks of trying to have government recruitment conducted through the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) and to set up an independent examination commission. It further promises to ensure that results and appointments are made on time.

Under education, social justice and employee welfare, it includes implementing the old pension scheme, extending grants in phases to unaided schools, providing cashless medical facilities and freeing teachers from non-academic duties. It also lists efforts to cancel the TET examination and to introduce a time-bound promotion scheme for teachers.

For backward classes, OBCs and minorities, it speaks of building two well-equipped government hostels in each of the state's 36 districts. The manifesto also speaks of effective implementation of government schemes such as Mahajyoti, 'Sarthi', 'Barti', 'Tarti' and Marti. It also includes demands for a caste census of OBCs and for raising the creamy layer limit.
