Government employees of Gondia district have turned aggressive in their demand for restoration of the old pension scheme and repeal of the 'PFRDA' law. A national employees' rally has been organised for these demands at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi on December 12, 2026, and a large number of employees from Gondia district will take part.

A special meeting to prepare for the agitation was held on October 13 at the office of the Zilla Parishad Karmachari Mahasangh in Gondia. It was led by Liladhar Patode, general secretary of the Madhyavarti Karmachari Sanghatana, Pralhad Sahare, president of the Zilla Parishad employees' organisation, and vice-president Kamlesh Bisen. The meeting discussed in detail how to strengthen the movement to save the pension.

Giving details of preparations for joining the Delhi rally, Kamlesh Bisen said there was considerable enthusiasm among employees of Gondia district. According to him, 103 gram panchayat officers in the district, 12 employees of various departments and 15 employees of the animal husbandry department have already shown readiness to join the rally.

Speaking at the meeting, office-bearers said plainly that discussion or support on social media alone is not enough for the old pension demand. The time has come for employees to take to the field and show their unity. They said pension is a question of financial security in the years after retirement, and an appeal was made that new and women employees too should take an active part in the fight.

"Our pension, our right, and our unity is our strength to win this right," was the message of the appeal, which urged as many employees of the district as possible to turn up in large numbers at the national rally at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi on December 12.

Among those present in large numbers at the meeting were Santosh Tomar, general secretary of the Zilla Parishad employees' organisation, working president Saurabh Agrawal, treasurer Subhash Khatri, Santosh Turkar, vice-presidents Ramesh Nampalliwar, Mahesh Rathod, Bhagirath Newere, Pradeep Singh, Kalam Sheikh, O. J. Bisen, Mrs Belge, Mrs Darwade and Mrs Yadav, along with office-bearers and employees from various departments.
