Shardiya Navratri begins on October 11. For the next nine days, a devotional mood will be visible across the country. During these days the nine forms of Goddess Durga are worshipped with due rites. In many homes in Maharashtra, the goddess is worshipped after the installation of the ghat (Ghatasthapana). The sacred days of Navratri are celebrated as a festival of devotion, faith and joy.
