Polling had started slowly in the morning, with only 9.20 per cent of votes cast by 10 am. By 2 pm the figure had risen to 38.88 per cent, a sharp increase after the slow start.

The rise suggests that more people came out to vote in the last hours of the morning and the early afternoon. In terms of total votes, Nagpur district led, with 52,199 graduates exercising their franchise by 2 pm.
