'Bhauacha Dandiya 2026' in Chandrapur from October 11 with prizes worth lakhs and a reels contest

A large Ras dance and dandiya festival, 'Bhauacha Dandiya 2026', is being held in Chandrapur city this year. It is being organised jointly by the Maratha Charitable Trust, Chandrapur, and the Balubhau Dhanorkar Mitra Parivar.

MP Pratibha Dhanorkar is the chief organiser of the festival, and the programme is being held under her main stewardship. The theme of the event is "A new tune will resonate in Ras dance, all of Chandrapur will sway in joy". Under this theme, the people of Chandrapur will get a chance to enjoy dandiya to the full.

The festival will run from October 11, 2026 to October 20, 2026. It is scheduled each day between 7 pm and 10 pm. The venue is the Police Football Ground, next to the Traffic Office, Tukum Road, Chandrapur.

According to the organisers, the platform has been provided for all garba lovers of Chandrapur and the surrounding areas during the auspicious festival of Navratri.

The main attraction of the festival is the prizes worth lakhs of rupees and other attractive awards set aside for contestants. These are meant for participants and for those who put up the best dance performances.

The programme will also have a special reels competition. Live food stalls will be set up for food lovers. Spectators too will get a chance to win attractive prizes every day.

The organisers, MP Pratibha Dhanorkar, the Maratha Charitable Trust and the Balubhau Dhanorkar Mitra Parivar, have appealed to all citizens of Chandrapur city and the surrounding areas, young men and women and garba lovers, to turn up in large numbers and enjoy the festival.
