Shri Mahalakshmi Jagdamba Sansthan at Koradi in Nagpur has completed preparations for the Ashwin Navratri festival 2026. The festival begins on October 11, and around 20 to 25 lakh devotees are expected to visit for darshan of the goddess.

Besides the Sansthan administration, several government departments have also completed their preparations so that devotees can have a safe, easy and orderly darshan. A large plan has been drawn up for security, traffic, health, sanitation, fire services, drinking water and darshan arrangements in the temple premises.

As every year, the temple will remain open 24 hours during the festival. The only difference is that darshan will be closed every day from 2 am to 4 am for the goddess's shringar. Darshan will resume once the shringar is completed.

Given the expected crowds, special attention has been paid to the darshan route and to entry and exit arrangements. This year, more than 7,000 Akhand Manokamna Jyotis will be lit at the Sansthan. Devotees will place their wishes at the feet of the goddess through these lamps. The Police Commissioner will be present at the religious ceremony of lighting the lamps, and the lamps will be lit by him.

As part of the preparations, the Police Commissioner, the Joint Commissioner of Police and the Deputy Commissioner of Police visited Koradi and inspected the temple premises and security arrangements. They reviewed the expected crowd, security arrangements, traffic, entry and exit routes and law-and-order arrangements. The officers also gave necessary instructions.

The District Collector also held a meeting of the departments concerned, reviewed the preparations, and asked all government departments to be ready at full strength during the festival.

Temple security has been strengthened in view of the heavy crowds. The temple premises, darshan route, entry gates and key locations will be monitored by more than 250 CCTV cameras. The police will keep watch on the crowds through these cameras and will be able to act immediately in case of any untoward incident. Security guards, police personnel and teams from different departments of the Sansthan will work in coordination.

For quick and easy darshan of Goddess Jagdamba, a sulabh darshan facility is also available for a donation of Rs 100. When crowds are heavy, devotees who are short of time, those visiting with families and other interested devotees can use it.

Coordination has been arranged between the Sansthan administration and the government departments. The Nagpur administration is trying to ensure that devotees can have safe and orderly darshan despite long queues and crowds. The Sansthan has appealed to all devotees to maintain discipline and to cooperate with the Sansthan's trustees, the administration, the police and other government departments.

A total of 251 sevadharis will be deployed to help and guide devotees. They are responsible for keeping the darshan queues in order, showing devotees the right way and assisting the Sansthan administration. They will help at different locations so that no one faces difficulty during crowded periods.
