Despite the craze for SUVs in the Indian automobile market, Maruti Suzuki's popular car Dzire has maintained its dominance in the sedan segment. In September 2026 too, the Dzire was at the top of this segment. Even amid the crowd of SUVs, sedan buyers chose this car the most.
Last month, the car gained 17,754 new customers. This strong response from customers testifies to the car's design and the trust it commands.
On looks, the Dzire appears quite premium and sporty. It has a wide grille and striking LED headlights at the front, and C-shaped LED tail-lights at the rear, which give the car a modern road presence.
On performance, it is powered by a new 1.2-litre Z-Series petrol engine that produces 80 bhp. In the petrol version, the car delivers a mileage of 25 to 26 km per litre, while in the CNG model the mileage goes up to 34 km per kg.
The biggest attraction of this new model is that it gets an electric sunroof for the first time. The car, which suits the tastes of young buyers, also comes with high-tech features such as a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charging and a 360-degree camera.
On safety, the Dzire has scored too. It has received a 5-star safety rating in the Global NCAP crash test. Advanced safety features such as 6 airbags, ABS with EBD and hill hold assist are provided as standard.
The ex-showroom price of the Maruti Dzire in the Indian market starts at Rs 6.30 lakh and goes up to Rs 9.54 lakh. The car is available in four variants: LXi, VXi, ZXi and ZXi Plus. Buyers on a limited budget can opt for the base model, while those who want an automatic or CNG option can choose the higher variants. The car is giving stiff competition to rivals such as the Honda Amaze and Hyundai Aura.
