Abhishek Pathak's film 'Drishyam 3' is running to packed theatres these days. Released on October 2, the film has earned Rs 245.50 crore at the box office in its first seven days alone. Ajay Devgn's character Vijay Salgaonkar is once again ruling audiences' hearts, and the film is being talked about everywhere on social media.
Against this backdrop, well-known Marathi director Kedar Shinde also watched the film and then made a post that drew everyone's attention. He shared a picture of 'Drishyam 3' and the late director Nishikant Kamat on social media, along with a heartfelt post.
Kedar Shinde wrote in the post, "Just watched 'Drishyam 3'. I had seen both earlier parts too. Salute to the vision of the makers of the original! But heartfelt congratulations to everyone for the unique success it has achieved in Hindi! Films are made to run! After watching the third part, everyone asked me for my reaction. Shall I tell you the truth? I do not feel like saying much about this. When people give an unprecedented response, everything else is over! Talking about it would be foolish... but but but... I will give the entire credit for this unprecedented response... to the director of the first part. Without Nishikant Kamat, these people could not have built these buildings at all. A Marathi person laid the foundation, which is why the spires have been raised on top!!"
'Drishyam 3: The Conclusion' is being described as the last part of the series. Ajay Devgn is once again Vijay Salgaonkar in it. Tabu, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, Rajat Kapoor, Kamlesh Sawant, Jaideep Ahlawat and Mrunal Jadhav play important roles alongside him. The grip of suspense that marked the first two parts has been maintained in the third. One does not know until the end what is going to happen, and this is the film's biggest plus point.
Since its release on October 2, the film has been breaking one record after another at the box office. Now that Kedar Shinde has remembered Nishikant Kamat, talk of the first 'Drishyam' has started again. People have still not forgotten the first 'Drishyam', released in 2015. The way Nishikant told the story then is the real strength of this franchise.
Kedar Shinde's remark rings true in that when a film becomes a hit, many people's hard work lies behind it, but a building rises high only when its foundation is strong. And nobody can forget that it was Nishikant Kamat who laid the foundation of 'Drishyam'.
