Ajay Devgn's much-awaited crime thriller 'Drishyam 3' has taken the box office by storm since its release. The film opened in cinemas on Gandhi Jayanti. It earned strongly on the first day and recorded the biggest opening of Devgn's career.

The film's pace has not slowed on the second day. According to available box office figures, with the second day's collection added, the film has crossed Rs 100 crore net in India. In just two days, 'Drishyam 3' has entered the Rs 100 crore club. It is also reported that on the second day itself, the film broke the opening weekend records of seven films of 2026.

The film had already earned well from advance bookings before release. Its net collection in India on the first day was Rs 66.75 crore, surpassing the openings of Devgn's earlier films. The worldwide collection on day one is reported at Rs 95.10 crore.

Devgn's 'Singham Again' had earned well on its first day, but 'Drishyam 3' broke its record to set a new high. The popularity of the 'Drishyam' franchise and the eagerness of audiences are considered to have played a big part in its success. The film is reported to have cost an estimated Rs 100 crore to Rs 110 crore to make.

The story picks up where 'Drishyam 2' ended. After what Vijay Salgaonkar did to protect his family, the police now have solid evidence against him. How Vijay will once again bring his family out of trouble is what remains to be seen. In this instalment the story takes a more thrilling turn, and Vijay's challenge is tougher than before. The film's unexpected twists and mystery are said to keep audiences hooked until the end.

Tabu, Prakash Raj and Jaideep Ahlawat are among the actors in key roles alongside Devgn. The face-off between Devgn and Ahlawat in particular remains a big draw for audiences. Along with the performances, the film's thrills, complex plot and mystery are also being praised.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh has also praised the film's performance and called it "extraordinary".

Devgn's 'Drishyam 3' is not being described as a remake of Mohanlal's Malayalam 'Drishyam 3'. The stories of the two films are different, and so are their construction and direction. Fans of the Hindi 'Drishyam' franchise are eager to see what happens next in Vijay Salgaonkar's story. Given the audience response and the strong start at the box office, the film's earnings are expected to rise further in the coming days.
