The Pune Municipal Corporation's town planning department has proposed 143 changes to the draft plan for nine villages added in 2017, and the changes will be open to public view for 30 days.
The development plan (DP) for the nine villages added to the limits of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) in 2017 has moved closer to final approval. After examining suggestions and objections from citizens and public representatives, the PMC's town planning department has proposed 143 changes to the plan.
The modifications have been published in the Maharashtra government gazette under Section 28(4) of the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning (MRTP) Act, 1966. They relate to Lohegaon, Mundhwa-Keshavnagar, Hadapsar (Sadesatara Nali), Undri, Ambegaon Budruk, Ambegaon Khurd, Dhayari, Shivane and Uttamnagar.
The draft DP was published in October 2025 under Section 26 of the MRTP Act. A total of 7,590 suggestions and objections were received afterwards, and the revised plan was prepared after they were examined.
A planning committee of expert members appointed by the government held public hearings between March and April 2026 and submitted its report in July 2026. According to information released by the civic administration, about 70 to 75 per cent of the suggestions and objections were considered favourably, and the 143 modifications emerged from them.
Of the total changes, 84, or about 59 per cent, relate to the road network. They aim to improve road connectivity and to draw up a more practical road map in view of future traffic needs.
In addition, 28 changes (20 per cent) have been made to public reservations and 30 changes (21 per cent) to amenity spaces. These modifications are meant to align the proposed reservations and amenities with ground realities and existing structures.
Lohegaon has the most proposed changes among the nine villages, with 31 modifications, about 22 per cent of the total. Dhayari and Undri also have a considerable number of changes, while Ambegaon Khurd has the fewest, about 5 per cent of the total.
The list of proposed modifications and the revised maps will be kept open for public viewing for 30 days. They will be available on the PMC's official website, www.pmc.gov.in, at the town planning office opposite the Vidhan Bhavan, and at the PMC headquarters.
After this public viewing period ends, the revised changes will be sent to the Maharashtra government for final approval under Section 30 of the MRTP Act.
Once the government approves it, the nine villages will get their first officially sanctioned development plan. This plan will form the framework for future infrastructure, road connectivity and civic amenities in these fast-growing areas.
