Additional Municipal Commissioner (Special) Omprakash Diwate told agencies to finish pending Package 4 works on time, without compromising on quality.

Pune, November 6, 2026: Additional Municipal Commissioner (Special) Omprakash Diwate on Friday inspected works under Package 4 of the Pune Grand Cycle Tour (PGCT) project. He told the departments and contractors concerned that the remaining work should be completed quickly, within the stipulated time and with good quality.

The inspection was held at 8 am. Superintending Engineer Rohidas Gavhane, officials of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) engineering team, representatives of Pavetech Consultants and contractors associated with the project were present.

Diwate reviewed the progress of road and utility works at several locations and gave clear instructions to resolve pending issues.

At Fatimanagar junction, he told the contractor and the road department to carry out the necessary repairs and correct the level of the road surface, so that motorists get an easy and safe ride.

On B.T. Kawade Road, officials were told to prepare a full record of the utility trenches dug by the water supply and drainage departments. The departments concerned have been asked to record the location and present condition of these trenches and make the necessary repairs.

Diwate also reviewed incomplete footpath works near the railway bridge on B.T. Kawade Road and in other parts of the package. He told the contractors and the road department to identify all incomplete stretches and finish the remaining work first.

The status of other utility services along the PGCT Package 4 route was also examined. The PMC road department, the utility agencies concerned, contractors and consultants were told to coordinate with one another, identify pending works and ensure that utility works do not hold up road development.

Diwate told all agencies to act immediately on the instructions given during the inspection. He stressed that all works must be completed on time and without compromising on quality, and that negligence would not be tolerated.

The PMC engineering team and Pavetech Consultants have also been directed to coordinate regularly with the utility departments concerned and monitor the progress of the works. Contractors have been asked to give priority to pending works and submit a report on the action taken to the officials concerned.
