The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit, Wardha, has detained Valmik Moreshwar Dhoble (29), a resident of Karegaon in Yavatmal district, who is accused of abducting a minor girl in a case registered at Wadner police station in Wardha district. The accused and the girl were found together at Kinhi village in Yavatmal district.

The case began on December 10, 2025. The girl's parents had come with their family to a farm in Hinganghat taluka for cotton picking. That day her father was unwell and had gone to a hospital at Sevagram for treatment. Her mother had taken the girl along to work on the farm owner's field.

When the father returned home around 5 pm, his wife told him that the girl had gone towards a tree in the field around 2 pm to eat. She did not return for a long time, and a search failed to find her. The mother also told him that Dhoble, who worked on the same farm, was not to be seen there either.

The father searched for the girl and Dhoble in the village and nearby areas, but neither was found. He then realised that the girl had been taken away, and lodged a complaint at Wadner police station on December 17, 2025. A case was registered on his complaint. The investigation was later handed over to the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit, Wardha.

The unit carried out the investigation carefully and thoroughly. The search for the girl and the accused went on based on confidential information. Police learnt that the accused had come to Kinhi in Yavatmal district. The information was passed to senior officers, and under their guidance Police Inspector Vinod Chaudhari of the Local Crime Branch, Wardha, formed a team. The team went to the spot and, acting on the information received, found the accused and the girl together.

The accused was detained and questioned. He told police that he came to know the girl because she was also working on the farm where he worked. He said he asked her to run away with him and get married, and took her from the farm around 2 pm on December 10, 2025.

According to him, the two travelled by state transport bus and stayed at Ralegaon, Yavatmal, Shegaon, Shirdi, Akkalkot and Pune. They returned to Yavatmal after he ran out of money. He also said that for the past month he had been collecting garbage on the gram panchayat office's garbage vehicle at Kinhi.

Both the accused and the girl have been detained and handed over to Wadner police station for further investigation.

The operation was carried out under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Saurabh Kumar Agrawal and Additional Superintendent of Police Sadashiv Waghmare, Wardha. Police Inspector Vinod Chaudhari of the Local Crime Branch and police personnel Amar Lakhe, Sanjaysingh Suryawanshi, Chandrakant Burange, Sanjay Rathod, Nitesh Meshram, Shabana Sheikh and Navnath Munde, posted with the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit, Wardha, carried it out.
