A case of alleged fraud of Rs 66 lakh in the name of agricultural land has come to light in the Nandanvan police station area of Nagpur. It is alleged that the complainant was shown land to which the accused did not hold title. According to the allegations, fake Aadhaar and PAN cards were then allegedly prepared to get the land deal done, and lakhs of rupees were taken from the complainant in cash and by cheque. All of this is, for now, only allegation.
On the basis of the complaint, Nandanvan police have registered a case against three accused under sections relating to cheating, forgery and use of forged documents.
According to police, the complainant, Shivraj Thakre, wanted to buy agricultural land. During this time he met the accused. It is alleged that they showed him about 3.49 hectares of land at Survey No. 113 in Mouza Bharatwada, in the Katol Road area.
The accused claimed the land was in the name of Anant Haribhau Kukde. The deal for the land is alleged to have been fixed at about Rs 1.31 crore.
According to the complaint made to police, accused Ganesh Dande allegedly prepared fake Aadhaar and PAN cards in the name of Anant Kukde with the help of Hirasingh and Nana Nikose. It is alleged that these fake documents and a bank account were used in the alleged forgery linked to the sale of the land.
According to the complaint, the accused took a total of Rs 66 lakh from the complainant in the name of the land deal, through different means, in cash and by cheque. The complainant later learnt the alleged truth about the ownership of the land and the documents. He then filed a complaint at Nandanvan police station.
Nandanvan police have registered an FIR against all three accused under sections relating to cheating, preparing forged documents and using them. Police are currently examining the land documents, the transactions and the alleged fake identity cards. The investigation into the allegations is still under way, and further action in the case will depend on its findings.
