Nagpur: Man from Hingnaghat held with 20 g of MD powder near Sakkardara lake garden

Nagpur: In an action against drugs, Sakkardara police have arrested a man with 20 grams of MD powder. The accused, Kunal Mhaiskar, is a resident of Hinganghat. Police are now searching for the person who supplied him the MD powder.

According to police, a Sakkardara police team was on patrol late last night when a young man was seen in a suspicious state behind the fire brigade office at Dattatray Nagar, near the wall of the Sakkardara Lake Garden. The patrolling police did not miss him.

As soon as he saw the police team coming towards him, the young man suddenly started running. Police chased him and caught him a short distance away. They then questioned and searched him.

The search was carried out in the presence of panch witnesses. Police found 20 grams of MD powder on him. Besides the MD powder, they seized a mobile phone and cash, with the total seized property valued at Rs 72,000.

Police said the accused had kept the MD powder for financial gain. The preliminary investigation has found that he had brought the MD powder to Nagpur from Hinganghat.

Sakkardara police have registered a case against Kunal Mhaiskar under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act and arrested him. Police are now searching for the trafficker who supplied the MD powder.

Police are investigating the case further. The search for the person who made the MD powder available to the accused is under way.
