He is alleged to have lured farmers and traders with the promise of getting them various licences and distributorships to start a business in buying and selling farm produce and seeds. Police teams had gone out in search of the accused four times so far, but he had not been caught. Police Inspector Nageshkumar Chatarkar then formed a special squad of Wardha City police.
The squad closely combed through the places where the accused could be hiding and, for seven consecutive days, conducted inquiries and search operations at different locations in Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. The team went to Delhi and Noida to trace him. It also visited his ancestral village Tameri, as well as places such as Jaswantnagar, Rajmau and Baidpura, and gathered information there.
The police found that the accused was changing his location repeatedly to avoid being caught. Even so, the team used the available technical and confidential information to follow his movements, confirmed his hideout and took him into custody from Sector 168 in Noida.
After the detention, the accused was produced before a local court and the necessary transit warrant was obtained. He has since been brought to Wardha City police station. Further legal action and investigation against him are under way.
During the investigation, the police found that non-bailable warrants are pending against him in some cases at Wardha City police station, Hinganghat police station and Rajura in Chandrapur district. Information is being gathered from the police stations concerned on which other police stations in Maharashtra have cases registered against him or have pending non-bailable court warrants. If he turns out to be wanted in any other case, those police stations will be informed and further action taken.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Saurabh Kumar Agrawal, Wardha Additional Superintendent of Police Sadashiv Waghmare and Sub-Divisional Police Officer Sunil Mahadik. It was led by Wardha City police station Police Inspector Nagesh Kumar Chatarkar.
