The Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar faction) has taken up the cause of long-pending Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) exam and recruitment issues in Wardha. A delegation led by the party's Wardha district president Atul Wandile met the District Collector and submitted a memorandum. Through it, the party sought to draw the state government's attention to students' problems.

Resentment is growing among students preparing for MPSC exams over delays in recruitment, alleged irregularities in examinations and the commission's style of functioning. A students' agitation is under way in Pune under the leadership of MLA Rohit Pawar. Against this backdrop, the demands of students from Wardha district were also conveyed to the government.

The first demand in the memorandum is that MPSC chairman Vivek Bhimanwar be asked to resign and be replaced by a new chairman with a clean image. The party also demanded an impartial inquiry into the alleged paper leak and other irregularities, and strict action against those found guilty, so that transparency and trust in the examination process are maintained.

The NCP demanded that recruitment begin immediately for about 70,000 posts lying vacant in various state government departments and be completed within a fixed time limit. The party said unnecessary delays in recruitment are increasing confusion and anxiety among youths preparing for competitive examinations.

The memorandum also demands that MPSC exams be held online as far as possible, with secure and transparent arrangements at examination centres. It further asks for a concession to reduce the financial burden of exam fees on students.

The party pressed for a fixed timetable for MPSC exams and recruitment to be announced, so that students do not have to endure repeated delays and uncertainty. It also demanded a separate mechanism for regular dialogue between the commission and students to hear candidates' problems and suggestions.

District president Atul Wandile and state general secretary Sunil Raut were present when the memorandum was submitted, along with a large number of party office-bearers and workers.
