A screening test for training for the MPSC combined Group B and Group C examinations, being conducted in Maharashtra by Mahajyoti and VANARTI, has been cancelled at two centres after irregularities and technical faults came to light.
The cancelled test is the one at Sun Bright English Medium School in Ambegaon, Pune, and the Marathwada Online Exam Centre in Nanded. Students who turned up to take the paper at both centres faced a shortage of computers and other technical problems.
Some videos from the centres have also surfaced, in which students describe their difficulties. They complained that the centres did not have enough computers and that, because of technical faults, the examination could not start at the scheduled time.
Given the poor conditions at the centres and the students' complaints, Mahajyoti decided to cancel the examination. Officials have clarified that the screening test will be held again for the affected students at the centres where it was cancelled.
The cancellation was announced through a circular issued by Mahajyoti Managing Director Milind Naringe and VANARTI Director Prashant Waghe.
The affected students are now waiting for the date of the fresh examination. The institutions have said that further instructions will be published on the official websites of Mahajyoti and VANARTI. Students whose test was cancelled at these centres will have to wait for official updates for the new date and other details.
The students are upset over the matter. They say the arrangements for the examination were not made properly, causing them needless trouble.
