Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut visited the site of the agitation being led by MLA Rohit Pawar in Pune and attacked the government sharply. He questioned the government over the Maharashtra Public Service Commission, competitive examinations and the election process. Raut asked why, if the government claims it has accepted the demands, young people are still sitting at the protest site.

Raut also questioned the role of Devendra Fadnavis. He said that if the agitation is not heeded, it could rise again in district after district. He gave the government this warning as well.

Raut said, "If Jantar Mantar rises again in every district, your car will not get out of Mantralaya, will not get out of Varsha, will not get out of the ministers' bungalows."

Raut also made serious allegations about the functioning of the Maharashtra Public Service Commission. He said, "There is a demand for a purification of the commission from top to bottom. But if elections cannot be held transparently, how will the government conduct competitive examinations?"

According to Raut, the future of the young generation entering the state administration through MPSC is at stake. He alleged, "You have set out to ruin an entire generation that would be part of this state's administration."

Raut also claimed the government is trying to split the agitation. He said that if the government were truly concerned about the questions raised by the protesters, it would talk to the agitators and to Rohit Pawar.

Raut also targeted the government over irregularities in examinations, paper leaks and alleged scams in job recruitment. He alleged that an attempt is being made to take young people away from education, thinking and culture and turn them into blind devotees.

Raut also spoke on the issue of Gyanesh Kumar. He claimed that as long as young people trust that Gyanesh Kumar will leave his post, opposition to placing the wrong people in key positions will continue.

Raut's visit to the protest site is seen as a sign that the agitation has won political support. The clash between the ruling side and the opposition over MPSC and the concerns of young people is likely to sharpen in the coming days.
