Sushma Andhare raises questions on Meenakshi Shinde's arrest in Thane's Purnekar murder case

The murder of Thackeray faction office-bearer Pradeep Purnekar in Thane has heated up politics. A few days ago, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) chief Uddhav Thackeray visited Thane and met the Purnekar family. He had said then that he would not rest until justice was done.

Sushma Andhare has now also met the Purnekar family. After the meeting, she held a press conference and raised several serious questions about the case. Andhare said Thackeray faction workers stood firmly with the family.

Andhare claimed that two accused had been arrested in the murder case, but no action had so far been taken against some others. She also raised the question of the arrest of Meenakshi Shinde and Rajendra Shinde.

According to Andhare, Pradeep Purnekar's son had named Meenakshi Shinde in his statement on the very first day. She therefore asked whether the police had investigated in that direction. She also said Purnekar had raised his voice on the cluster issue and against alleged irregularities. Andhare also claimed that Purnekar had objected to Meenakshi Shinde's caste certificate.

Andhare also raised the issue of a viral audio clip in the case. She said Meenakshi Shinde had described the audio as AI-generated. Andhare asked why, if the audio was fake, no complaint had been filed with the cyber police.

Andhare further claimed that Meenakshi Shinde, Raja Shinde and a person called "Tallya" had met in Pawarnagar. She demanded that the police verify this information.

Andhare said she had received information that a transaction of Rs 5 crore had taken place in the Purnekar murder case. She also claimed that reconnaissance of the target had been going on for about 15 days before the murder. She demanded that the CCTV footage of Hotel Maharaja be examined.
