Latur man abducted in car, beaten to death at Bardapur crusher; FIR against four

A 32-year-old man was allegedly abducted from Latur city and beaten to death in Bardapur, Ambajogai taluka; four Latur residents face abduction and murder charges.

A young man from Latur city was abducted and taken to Bardapur in Ambajogai taluka, where he died after being beaten with a rod, a belt and a stick. The case has caused a stir in Latur district. A case of abduction and murder has been registered against four people at Shivajinagar police station.

The deceased was Madhav alias Nitin Dhanaji Sangame, 32. He lived in an apartment in the Kanheri Chowk area of Latur city. According to police, at around 4.30 pm on October 4 he was near the Rukmini temple at Kanheri Chowk. At that moment four men arrived in a car bearing the number MH-24-CD-7474 and forcibly took him away.

Police investigation has found that after the abduction the accused took him to a crusher site at Bardapur in Ambajogai taluka. There they hit Madhav alias Nitin Sangame with a rod, a belt and a stick. He died in this assault, police investigation has found.

The case was registered on the complaint of the deceased's brother, Narendra Dhanaji Sangame. At Shivajinagar police station, Pruthviraj Deshmukh, Dhawal Deshmukh, Prathamesh Reddy and Aditya Bhalke face charges of abduction and murder. All four are residents of Latur. They have only been accused so far; nothing has been proved against them.

On the basis of the preliminary investigation, police have said the crime was prompted by suspicion of an illicit relationship. However, police are still investigating the real reason behind the murder and the intent of the accused.

Shivajinagar police began the investigation as soon as they learned of the incident. They are examining the movements of the accused, the reason for the crime and the circumstances at the time of the assault.
