Nagpur: 21-year-old arrested after 15-year-old girl found 15 weeks pregnant
Ajni police have booked a 21-year-old under the BNS and the POCSO Act on a complaint by the family of a 15-year-old girl in Nagpur.
A serious allegation of sexual assault on a 15-year-old girl has come to light within the limits of Ajni police station in Nagpur. Police have arrested a 21-year-old man in the case. He is the accused in the offence and the allegation has been made against him.
According to the police, the girl and the man got to know each other on the social media platform Instagram. They first became friends and then began talking on the phone. Their conversations gradually increased.
The allegation is that during this period the man won the girl's trust and then took her to different places and repeatedly had sexual relations with her against her wishes. The accused is also alleged to have warned the girl not to tell anyone. These are all allegations, and they will be confirmed only by the investigation.
After June 2026, the girl's health began to deteriorate. She then told her mother everything. The mother took her to a gynaecologist. After a medical examination and a sonography, it emerged that the girl was about 15 weeks pregnant.
On learning this, the family rushed to the police and lodged a complaint.
On the basis of the complaint, Ajni police registered a case against the young man under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO). Police then arrested the accused.
Police are currently investigating all aspects of the case. The allegations in this case involving a minor will be confirmed only through the investigation and the court process. It is for the court to decide whether the accused is to be held guilty.
