Nagpur: 47-year-old man arrested for alleged sexual abuse of seven-year-old girl in Panchpaoli
Police say the man lured the girl with chocolates between June 30 and October 13, 2026; the case surfaced after she told her teacher at school.
A serious case of alleged sexual abuse of a seven-year-old girl has come to light within the limits of Panchpaoli police station in Nagpur. A 47-year-old man is accused of luring the girl with chocolates and behaving inappropriately with her, and of threatening to kill her if she told anyone. Police have arrested him.
According to the police, between June 30 and October 13, 2026, the accused allegedly lured the girl to him with the promise of chocolates and behaved inappropriately with her. The allegation is that this did not happen just once but repeatedly during this period.
Police also explained how the case came to light. The girl told her teacher at school about the accused's alleged behaviour. The teacher then called the girl's mother to the school and told her everything. When the mother spoke to the girl at home, the girl told her about the alleged incidents.
According to the complaint, the accused used to call the girl to his house and behave inappropriately with her in a sexual manner. It is alleged that when the girl began to cry, he would hold her mouth shut. He is also alleged to have threatened to kill her father if she told anyone about the incidents.
On the complaint of the girl's mother, Panchpaoli police registered a case against the accused under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Police arrested him after registering the case.
As the case involves a minor girl, it is extremely sensitive. Police are investigating further. Police said further legal action will be taken according to the facts that emerge in the investigation.
