The mother of the youth arrested in the firing on Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff's car has made a startling claim. She says her son was taken out of the house with the promise of a good job and a chance to earn Rs 2 lakh. He left for work, she says, and never returned home.

According to the mother, about 20 days ago her son was sitting at home eating when a man came to call him. The son left, saying he was going out for work. He did not come back. The family repeatedly tried his mobile phone but found it switched off each time. The family did not even know he had gone to Mumbai. It later emerged that he had been arrested in the case of the firing on Tiger Shroff's car.

The mother claims a youth from Bihar had promised her son good work. According to her, the youth had said he would get a chance to work with his brother and could earn Rs 2 lakh through him. The family's finances were poor and the son wanted to help the family by working. She alleges that this very promise of a job led him down the wrong path.

The mother said her son had left school a few months ago. After that he was learning welding work in Gurugram. He wanted to improve the family's circumstances through hard work. She alleges he was drawn into the case with the lure of a job. The whole family is in shock over his arrest.

The mother has been deeply distressed since the arrest. She said she does not have the money even to travel to Mumbai to meet her son. She demands that if her son has done something wrong he should be punished, but that those who pushed him down this path should also face action. What the son's actual role was, who called him to Mumbai and with what motive, and how much truth there is in the claims about the Rs 2 lakh lure will become clear from the investigation.
