Preparations are in full swing for the Ashwin Navratri festival at the Shri Mahalakshmi Jagdamba Sansthan in Koradi, Nagpur district. The festival will be held from October 11 to 20, and about 25 lakh devotees are expected this year.

Devotees are expected to arrive in large numbers at Koradi for darshan of Maa Mahalakshmi Jagdamba from different parts of Maharashtra, including Vidarbha, and from other states. Keeping the crowds in mind, the Sansthan administration has made arrangements for darshan, security, traffic control and other necessary facilities.

The Sansthan will light about 7,000 akhand manokamna jyoti during the festival. Through these lamps, devotees will offer their wishes at the feet of the Goddess. The Sansthan has made special arrangements for lighting the lamps. During Navratri, the entire premises will be filled with a devotional atmosphere.

In view of the large crowds, comprehensive security arrangements will be made with the cooperation of the Nagpur police administration. Special attention will be paid to the queues of devotees coming for darshan, entry and exit routes, traffic control and the maintenance of law and order.

Along with crowd management, measures necessary for the safety of devotees are being taken. The Sansthan administration has coordinated with various departments to hold the festival peacefully and in an orderly manner. The administration is trying to ensure that darshan arrangements run smoothly even if large numbers of devotees arrive, and that no one is troubled unnecessarily.

On the first day of Navratri, October 11, devotees will get a special opportunity for swayambhu darshan of Maa Shri Mahalakshmi Jagdamba from 5 am to 10 am. A large number of devotees are likely to take part in this special darshan. The Sansthan administration has drawn up a special plan to manage the crowd of devotees.

During Navratri, the temple sees its largest crowds in the morning and evening, and fewer devotees come in the afternoon. With this in mind, the Shri Mahalakshmi Jagdamba Sansthan has appealed to devotees to come for darshan in the afternoon when possible.

This will ease the pressure of the crowd and allow devotees to have darshan of the Goddess conveniently. The Sansthan has also appealed to devotees to maintain patience and discipline during darshan and to cooperate with the administration on security arrangements.

The Sansthan administration is fully prepared to hold the Navratri festival peacefully, in an orderly manner and in a devotional atmosphere. Special emphasis is being placed on ensuring that all devotees get safe and easy darshan of Maa Mahalakshmi Jagdamba.
