Ex-minister Parinay Fuke tours drought-hit Gondia-Bhandara farms
MLA Dr Parinay Fuke inspected drought-affected paddy fields in Gondia's Deori tehsil and assured farmers of government support
With the monsoon failing and crops withering in the fields, the ruling side has stepped in to reassure farmers caught in the crisis. Taking note of the worsening drought situation in Gondia and Bhandara districts, former minister and sitting MLA Dr Parinay Fuke personally visited villages in the Deori tehsil area to review the situation on the ground. Leaving his office and heading straight to farmers' fields, MLA Fuke inspected the paddy crops being damaged and assured farmers that the government stood firmly behind them at every stage.
After Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis issued strict instructions on seeing the severe drought conditions across the state, ruling party MLAs are now reaching out directly to farmers. As part of this effort, MLA Dr Parinay Fuke arrived in Bhagi village, under Gondia's Deori tehsil, with a large team of revenue and administrative officials. Prolonged lack of rain has left crops withering in this area, considered a paddy granary. While personally inspecting the paddy fields being ruined by the severe water shortage, Dr Fuke listened to the grievances of local farmers.
Seeing the poor condition of the fields, MLA Dr Fuke gave strict instructions to the officials present to complete the panchnama and survey of the damage immediately, so that farmers could receive help as soon as possible. He told the farmers present, "The government is fully behind you. The survey of crop damage is being carried out at speed, and as soon as this process is complete, direct assistance will be announced. No farmer will be left to fend for themselves."
Dr Fuke also closely reviewed the water levels available in the tehsil's minor irrigation projects and directed officials to take concrete measures to avoid a possible water shortage in the coming period.
Present during the visit were Tehsildar Rohit Shailkhande, Mandal Officer Prakash Vaidya, Talathi Ujjwal Patle, Virendra Anjankar, Raju Sahu, Pravin Dahikar and Indrajeet Bhatia, along with several local public representatives and a large number of farmers affected by the drought.
