Chandrapur MLA Sudhir Mungantiwar has pushed for urgent updation of pending kharif 2026-27 crop registration data so that eligible farmers can get crop loans. He spoke over the phone with Additional Chief Secretary of the Revenue Department Vikas Kharge, demanding that difficulties in crop registration be resolved immediately. Kharge responded positively and assured further necessary action.

Mungantiwar later submitted a memorandum at the Chandrapur district collector's office and met Additional Collector Dr. Nitin Vyavahare in person. He urged that, given the condition of crops, rainfall conditions and the financial distress faced by farmers in the district, action be taken urgently to declare a drought as well.

The District Central Cooperative Bank has instructed its branches not to sanction crop loans until the kharif 2026-27 crop registration is updated. This has created difficulties for many farmers who availed the Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar loan waiver scheme in obtaining fresh crop loans. Mungantiwar said that since the deadline for crop loan disbursement is September 30, very little time is left, making it necessary to urgently update the crop registration of eligible farmers.

He demanded that an urgent meeting of Revenue and Agriculture Department officials be held to prepare taluka-wise and village-wise lists of farmers whose crop registration has not been updated, and that a special drive be undertaken to update the pending registrations. He also suggested that once the registration is updated, coordination be maintained with the District Central Cooperative Bank's head office so that banks can urgently settle the crop loan cases of the concerned farmers.

Mungantiwar again raised with Additional Chief Secretary Vikas Kharge, in the same phone conversation, the demand that field-level difficulties in crop registration work be urgently resolved and necessary instructions issued to complete the work within the stipulated time. Kharge again responded positively and assured further action.

Mungantiwar took the clear position that the district administration must take special care to ensure that not a single eligible farmer is denied a crop loan before September 30 merely because the crop registration has not been updated. He also demanded a taluka-wise review to urgently dispose of pending cases and that a report on the action taken be made available.

Saying that crop loans, crop registration and the drought issue are linked to farmers' hopes for the next season and their families' financial support, Mungantiwar has taken the matter up from the district collector's office to senior officials of the state Revenue Department. He said he expects the government to take a sensitive and urgent decision on declaring a drought, given the condition of crops, rainfall conditions and the growing financial strain on farmers.
