BJP MP Bharti Pardhi's vehicle hits motorcycle in Bhandara, two seriously injured
Two men on a motorcycle were badly hurt when the car of Balaghat MP Bharti Pardhi hit them near Usarra on the Tumsar-Ramtek highway.

A vehicle carrying Bharti Pardhi, BJP MP from Balaghat in Madhya Pradesh, met with an accident in Bhandara district. Near Usarra on the Tumsar-Ramtek National Highway, the MP's vehicle hit a motorcycle. Two people riding the motorcycle were seriously injured.
The injured have been named as Surjit Singh and Tasmira Mehra. Immediately after the accident, both were admitted to a private hospital in Bhandara.
According to the information available, Pardhi was travelling from Balaghat towards Nagpur at the time. The accident took place at Usarra, in Tumsar tehsil of Bhandara district.
Surjit Singh and Tasmira Mehra are reported to be from Punjab. They had come to Bhandara district for paddy harvesting work and work as labourers on a harvester.
Andhalgaon police reached the spot on learning of the accident. Police have registered a case and taken the vehicle involved into their custody. Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
Traffic on the highway was held up for some time after the accident. A crowd gathered at the spot, causing alarm in the area. The information given so far does not make clear whether Pardhi was injured in the accident.
Separately, a case of theft from a government grain warehouse has come to light in Sakoli in Bhandara district. A total of 361 sacks of rice had been stolen from the warehouse. After an investigation, Sakoli police have arrested 11 people in the case.
Those arrested include labourers who handled goods at the warehouse. They also include Sanjay Pustode, secretary of the Sadak Arjuni Agricultural Produce Market Committee in Gondia district and a rice mill operator.
Warehouse manager Deepak Chaudhari had filed the complaint. Police then examined CCTV footage closely. According to the information available, the whole case came to light after Pustode, a rice mill operator from Girola Heti, was taken into custody.
Police have also seized the stolen rice along with a pickup vehicle, valued at Rs 5,41,500. Further investigation is under way.
