A video of a beggar from Bangladesh is being widely watched on social media these days. The man seen in it claims he has 21 wives and takes each of them along with him by turns. Most surprising of all, when he was asked to name all his wives, he could recall the names of only 8.

Under the Indian Penal Code, every man in the country has the right to marry only one woman. The man's story has therefore spread quickly on the internet, and people have been keen to know how a beggar came to have so many wives.

The man is said to be a resident of Bangladesh and his name is Meru Mia. His age is stated to be 35 years. According to Meru Mia, he has married 21 times so far. He earns his living by begging, and this is how he feeds his family.

He has also answered, in the viral video, how so many marriages came about. Meru Mia claims he never proposed marriage to any woman. According to him, it was the women who expressed the wish to marry, and he did not want to break anyone's heart. For this reason he turned nobody down and married 21 women.

According to the claim made in the video, he supports himself and his family by begging, and his 21 wives also help him in this work. Meru takes one wife with him to beg every day, which means a different wife accompanies him each day.

The video has been shared on social media, and users who have watched it are expressing surprise. Many people left comments with their reactions. One user wrote, "He remembers the names of only his 8 favourite wives." Another user wrote, "Young men here cannot get even one, and how did a beggar get so many wives?" Yet another user commented, "This guy thinks he is James Bond."
