Two models drawing attention in this segment are the Aprilia SXR GT 175 hp-e and the Hero Zoom 160. Aprilia has launched the SXR GT 175 hp-e to replace the older SXR 160. A look at their prices, engine power and features shows which scooter suits which buyer.
First, the price. The ex-showroom price of the Aprilia SXR GT 175 hp-e in Maharashtra is Rs 1,29,999. The ex-showroom price of the Hero Zoom 160 in Delhi is Rs 1,44,998. This makes the Aprilia scooter about Rs 15,000 cheaper. Both scooters come in a single variant, so buyers do not have to choose between variants.
In design, the Aprilia has a maxi-style look with a flat floorboard. The Hero Zoom 160 looks like an adventure scooter, with a large flyscreen, a dual-chamber LED headlamp and block-pattern tyres. The Aprilia comes in three colours, metallic blue, matte black and matte green, while the Hero Zoom 160 is offered in four colours.
On the engine, the Aprilia SXR GT 175 hp-e has a 174.7 cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine. It produces 13.26 PS of power and 14.14 Nm of torque. The Hero Zoom 160 has keyless ignition, i3S idle start-stop technology, all-LED lighting, a USB charging port and Bluetooth connectivity with navigation. It has an LCD display instead of a TFT. It gets a 240 mm front disc and a rear drum brake with single-channel ABS.
