Chandrapur: MLA Sudhir Mungantiwar has written to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis demanding that arrangements be made so that beneficiaries of the Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Anudan Yojana in Chandrapur district receive the honorarium regularly and on time. He has drawn the government's attention to the fact that beneficiaries in the district are not getting the grant on schedule.
The scheme is a vital support for the destitute, the disabled, widows and the elderly. Mungantiwar said the daily needs, medicines and treatment, and livelihood of thousands of needy people depend on this grant, so receiving the amount on time is extremely important. He has demanded that beneficiaries should not have to face financial hardship because of delays in disbursing the grant.
In the letter, Mungantiwar wrote that many beneficiaries in Chandrapur district are not receiving the scheme's amount regularly, and complaints are coming in about this. According to him, the grant is not merely financial aid for beneficiaries but a key means of meeting their daily needs. Therefore, the delays must be stopped and every eligible beneficiary should receive the grant within the stipulated time.
He has requested the chief minister to remove the technical or administrative hurdles behind the delay in disbursement so that beneficiaries get regular financial help. He also said the department concerned should be given the necessary instructions so that there is no delay in grant payments in future.
Mungantiwar has raised his voice for the beneficiaries of this scheme earlier too. From raising the issues of the destitute in the Assembly to taking the initiative to increase the grant while he was finance minister, he has given priority to the concerns of these sections. As the state's finance minister, he had raised the grant amount from Rs 600 to Rs 1,200.
Even after that, aware that the aid was falling short, he repeatedly raised the demand in the Assembly to increase the honorarium from Rs 1,200 to Rs 1,500. Now, in the same way, he wants the sanctioned grant to reach beneficiaries on time and regularly. According to him, the main aim of this demand is that the most needy people in society keep receiving the financial help that is their due on a regular basis.
