After being elected unopposed as a director of Satara District Bank, MP Udayanraje Bhosale said in his speech that responsibility towards the people matters more than power and posts. "I am not restless for a post. I had even resigned from the post of MP. Compared to that, the district bank post is not big. Ordinary people can be served through it, and that is my role," he said.

The Udayanraje Bhosale Mitra Mandal had organised a felicitation programme for him at Hotel Lake View. Former Zilla Parishad chairman Sunil Katkar, Kaka Dhumal, Sangram Barge, D. K. Pawar, Rambhau Lahoti, Santosh Kanse, Balasaheb Nanaware, Ashok Mone, Yashwant Dhane, Udaysinh Jagdale and Dhanaji Salunkhe were among those present.

On the occasion, Udayanraje spoke about the tradition of his family, the real purpose of the cooperative movement and the development of ordinary people. He said that, whether in the district bank or any other field, he would never let the family's tradition weaken and would not step back in any difficult time. According to him, posts come and go, and he does not worry about them. He said, with emotion, that the blessings of elders are his merit.

On cooperation, Udayanraje said cooperative banks, cooperative credit societies, spinning mills and sugar mills are the main instruments of the movement. Their benefits should reach farmers, labourers, neglected sections and ordinary citizens. He expressed the hope that cooperation should also be used for the progress of the coming generations of these people.

He said the cooperative movement has taken deep root in Maharashtra on a large scale and that many stalwarts have led Satara District Bank. According to him, the common man was kept at the centre, and that is why cooperation could reach the grassroots. He also warned that if politics enters cooperation, the real purpose of the progress of ordinary people is left behind and the movement is ruined.

Explaining why he came to the district bank, Udayanraje said, "There are many people who know more about cooperation than I do. But they insisted that I be in the district bank. One gets the chance to serve more and more people. That is the only reason behind my coming to the district bank."
