The political climate in Delhi is heated over the proposed agitation by the Cockroach Janata Party. The party has announced a protest in Delhi on Saturday against Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. In view of this, a large number of police and paramilitary personnel have been deployed in the capital.
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut spoke to journalists in Pune on Saturday on these developments. He raised questions about the Central government, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Delhi's security arrangements. Raut claimed that the government led by Narendra Modi would fall within the next six months.
It had been said that the party's chief, Abhijeet Dipke, was about to reach Delhi airport and that the police could detain him. In this context, Raut criticised the government's action.
Raut said this was a people's revolt and the government would not be able to stop it. According to him, the downfall of the present government has begun. He accused the Central government of functioning like a businessman.
Raut asked why such tight security had been put in place in Delhi because of the agitation. He said Delhi had been turned into something like Jammu and Kashmir. He also claimed that a large number of vehicles were stuck outside Delhi and that agitators travelling by train were being stopped. Questioning Amit Shah's role, he asked whether the government was afraid of the agitators.
Speaking on the government's future, Raut said the Modi government would fall within the next six months and that Narendra Modi would no longer be Prime Minister after April. He also claimed that this year's birthday would be Modi's last as Prime Minister. These remarks are Raut's political predictions and have not been independently confirmed.
Raut also levelled allegations against the government over action against the Opposition. He said the power of repression was being used against opponents. Citing the Emergency era, he criticised the present political developments. Referring to the power wielded by Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and Suvendu Adhikari, he also questioned the election process.
Referring to the detention of YouTuber Dhruv Rathee by the police, Raut also criticised the Central government. He said an alternative government could be formed in the country.
Political circles are now watching how the ruling side responds to Raut's claims and what happens next in Delhi over the agitation.
