A trailer loaded with iron pipes overturned near the Samruddhi Mahamarg circle in Hingna, Nagpur district, on Wednesday night. The 29-year-old truck helper died during treatment, while the trailer's driver was injured. People gathered at the spot as news of the accident spread in the area.

According to the police, the accident took place near the 11th kilometre, in the area under Hingna police station. The trailer, registration number UP 78 KN 2396, was carrying a large load of iron pipes when it suddenly overturned. The pipes spilled across the road, and driver Shailendra Singh (37) and helper Sanjay Yadav (29) were both trapped inside the cabin.

A rescue team used a crane to clear the pipes that had fallen on the road and pulled both men out of the damaged vehicle. They were then taken to AIIMS Nagpur for treatment. Yadav, a resident of Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh, died there during treatment. Singh remains in hospital under the observation of doctors, and his treatment is continuing.

On the complaint of Highway Police head constable Omprakash Pawar, Hingna police have registered a case against the truck driver. The preliminary inquiry has indicated that speeding and negligent driving could have been the cause of the accident. Police are investigating the matter further.
