Toyota Kirloskar Motor has launched the 2026 Leader Edition of the Fortuner. The Fortuner remains popular in India's SUV market, and the company has brought the special edition to build on that during the festive season. It comes with cosmetic changes, a black theme and a premium interior.
The ex-showroom price of the SUV starts at Rs 36.51 lakh. The Leader Edition is available in two variants: 4x2 manual and 4x2 automatic. The manual variant is priced at Rs 36.51 lakh, while the automatic costs Rs 38.72 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom. The edition focuses mostly on looks, to enhance the Fortuner's imposing appearance.
The vehicle gets a black theme on the outside. A signature front grille, a special bonnet emblem and body-side moulding have been fitted. Gloss black alloy wheels, a black tailgate garnish, a black roof and a black antenna give it a sporty look. The SUV comes in three colours: Super White, Platinum White Pearl and Attitude Black. Customers who like black accents with a white body may also find this option appealing.
The cabin gets black and maroon seat upholstery, door trims, illuminated scuff plates and ambient lighting. A tyre pressure monitoring system is also included. The features of the regular model, namely LED headlamps, LED fog lamps, a power tailgate, ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, are expected in this edition too. Even so, it would be advisable to confirm the full feature list of this special edition with the dealer before delivery.
On the engine front, it has a 2.8-litre 1GD-FTV diesel engine. With the manual gearbox it produces 201 hp of power and 420 Nm of torque. In the automatic variant, torque is 500 Nm. Both variants have a 6-speed gearbox and the vehicle seats seven people. Features such as seven airbags, vehicle stability control, hill assist, traction control, a reverse camera and parking sensors are expected for safety.
Overall, the new Fortuner Leader Edition focuses more on design and styling changes than on the engine. The edition could prove attractive to customers looking for a distinct black look in a premium SUV.
