Toyota has officially launched the Leader Edition of its Fortuner SUV. The company says the new version is meant for customers who want a sportier look and a premium cabin experience.
The Fortuner Leader Edition starts at an ex-showroom price of Rs 36.51 lakh. It is available in two main variants, 4x2 manual (MT) and 4x2 automatic (AT). The manual variant costs Rs 36,51,000, while the automatic variant costs Rs 38,72,000.
Bookings for the SUV open on October 12. Buyers can book through Toyota's official website or at their nearest dealership.
The exterior has several changes: a new signature front grille, black rear door garnish, gloss black alloy wheels, a black roof treatment and a black-finish antenna. The sides have body moulding, and a special hood emblem sits on the bonnet. The SUV is offered in three colours: Super White, Platinum White Pearl and Attitude Black.
Inside, the cabin is done mostly in a black and maroon dual-tone combination, visible on the seats and door trims. Premium ambient lighting and illuminated scuff plates have been added. Features include auto-folding ORVMs and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
The engine is unchanged. As before, it is a 2.8-litre diesel engine producing 200 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque.
Toyota is also offering finance and ownership packages. These include a loan plan of up to 7 years, 5 years of free roadside assistance and a standard warranty of 3 years or 1 lakh km. The warranty can be extended to 5 years or 2,25,000 km.
