Thunderstorm and rain alert for Konkan, Central Maharashtra and Marathwada from October 16 to 19

The monsoon has begun its withdrawal from the state, but post-monsoon rain has started to settle over several areas. According to the weather department's new forecast, Konkan, Central Maharashtra and Marathwada are likely to see thunderstorms with lightning and heavy rain over the next few days. The rain will bring some relief from the humidity, but farmers' worries have grown.

Some parts of the state are currently feeling the effect of "October heat", with hot and humid weather. The weather is now changing sharply, especially in South Central Maharashtra and the Konkan-Goa belt. Rain is expected to intensify in different parts of the state between October 16 and 19.

In Konkan, Thane and Mumbai will have hot and humid weather at some places on October 16, while light rain is likely in Raigad. Sindhudurg district may see rain with thunder, lightning and winds of 30 to 40 km per hour. Between October 17 and 19, light to moderate rain is expected at many places in Konkan, with lightning at some places.

In Central Maharashtra on October 16, Kolhapur, Satara, Sangli, Solapur and Dharashiv, along with the ghat areas of Kolhapur and Satara districts, will get rain with thunderstorms. On October 17, Pune and the Pune ghat area will be added, and the intensity of rain in Central Maharashtra is expected to rise. Rain has been forecast at some places in Central Maharashtra on October 18 and 19.

In Marathwada, scattered rain is likely on October 16. On October 17, a warning of lightning and rain with winds of 30 to 40 km per hour has been issued for Nanded, Latur and Dharashiv districts. On October 18 and 19, the spread of rain in Marathwada may widen at some places.

The weather department has also said some Vidarbha districts are likely to see scattered light rain during this period.

According to the region-wise forecast, on October 16 Konkan may see scattered rain, thunder with lightning, and hot, humid weather. Central Maharashtra and Marathwada are likely to see scattered rain and lightning, while Vidarbha may see scattered rain. On October 17, Konkan, Central Maharashtra and Marathwada will see scattered rain with lightning, and Vidarbha scattered rain.

On October 18 and 19, scattered rain and lightning are expected in Konkan. Central Maharashtra and Marathwada will get rain at some places, with lightning and thunder at scattered places. Vidarbha is likely to see scattered rain on both days.
