Maharashtra temperatures to rise to 37-39 degrees by October 10, light rain likely in south
The weather department says maximum temperatures in northern Maharashtra will rise by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius, while light rain is likely in parts of the south.

The effect of heat in Maharashtra is gradually increasing. The weather department has said the state's temperatures could see big changes over the next few days. Maximum temperatures will rise in north Maharashtra, while in south Central Maharashtra and the Konkan-Goa region the weather will be mixed, with light rain in some places.
According to the department's forecast, there will not be much change in the state's maximum temperatures in the next 24 hours. In the following three days, however, the maximum temperature in northern Maharashtra will rise gradually by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius.
Between October 7 and 10, 2026, maximum temperatures in the interior parts of Maharashtra are very likely to be recorded between 37 and 39 degrees Celsius. People may therefore have to face humid and hot conditions. In the Gujarat region, there will be no major change in maximum temperatures over the next four to five days, it has been said.
As for minimum temperatures, there will be no major change in Maharashtra over the next two days. After that, night or morning minimum temperatures could fall by 1 to 3 degrees Celsius.
On October 8, light rain or thundershowers are very likely at some places in south Central Maharashtra. The weather will remain mostly clear in the districts of Konkan-Goa, north Central Maharashtra and Marathwada.
On October 9, light rain or thunder is forecast at some places in south Konkan-Goa and south Central Maharashtra. Skies are expected to remain clear in north Konkan, north Central Maharashtra and Marathwada that day as well.
On October 10, the rain pattern will be much the same. Light rain may fall at isolated places in south Konkan-Goa and south Central Maharashtra. The weather in the rest of north Konkan, north Central Maharashtra and Marathwada is expected to be dry and clear.
With rising temperatures, the state will feel humid, though light rain in some parts of south Maharashtra may bring some local relief. In view of the change in weather, people have been urged to take the necessary precautions.
