Ranbir Kapoor's film "Ramayana" is set to reach audiences around the world. The big-budget film, produced by Namit Malhotra and directed by Nitesh Tiwari, will reportedly be released on 50,000 screens in more than 100 countries. Carrying Indian culture, tradition and a rich heritage of storytelling to the world, the film is seen as an important one for Indian cinema. Through it, the Ramayana, one of India's most revered epics, will be placed before international audiences.

The film is described as more than entertainment. It is called an attempt to bring a timeless story rooted in Indian culture and civilisation to the big screen. Valour, duty, sacrifice and the struggle between dharma and adharma are at the heart of the epic. It is hoped that audiences from different countries and different generations will connect with the story.

The worldwide release is being cited as proof of Indian cinema's growing international reach. If the film opens on more than 100 countries and 50,000 screens, it will be a major opportunity to present Indian mythology on a global stage.

The cast is also a draw for audiences. Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi is Mother Sita, Yash plays Ravana, Sunny Deol will be seen as Hanuman and Ravi Dubey plays Lakshman. The film's grandeur, its visuals and the idea of presenting the Indian epic through modern filmmaking have generated considerable curiosity.

"Ramayana" has been produced by Namit Malhotra's Prime Focus Studios. DNEG and Yash's Monster Mind Creations have also contributed to the project. Nitesh Tiwari has directed it. The makers aim to present the epic to a new generation through world-class filmmaking, while respecting the roots of Indian culture and the core spirit of the Ramayana. The film has been made in two parts, and audiences are watching for the release of both.

The first part will be released in cinemas worldwide on November 5, 2026. The second part will arrive at Diwali 2027. In India, the film will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. It can also be seen in the IMAX format.

On distribution, Sony Pictures is responsible for markets outside India, while Dharma Productions will handle the Hindi-speaking market. Made to take the grandeur of the Indian epic to audiences worldwide, "Ramayana" is expected to be an important milestone in Indian cinema's global journey. It remains to be seen how international audiences respond to the epic.
