The mercury is rising day by day in Maharashtra, and October heat is troubling people. Maximum temperatures have reached 36 to 38 degrees Celsius in some parts of the state, making the sun feel harsher. Dry weather rather than rain is likely to prevail in most areas.

The monsoon's withdrawal is complete. Since then, the effect of October heat has been growing in many areas instead of rain. Konkan will be hot and humid, while North Maharashtra, Western Maharashtra, Marathwada and Vidarbha are expected to see mostly dry weather.

Konkan has humidity along with the heat, leaving people drenched in sweat. Hot and humid weather is forecast on October 13 in Palghar, Thane, Mumbai, Raigad and Ratnagiri districts. The sky may be cloudy in some places. A yellow alert has been issued for these five districts. Because of the humidity, it may feel hotter than the actual temperature. Sindhudurg district is expected to see mainly dry weather.

The weather in Dhule, Nandurbar, Jalgaon and Nashik districts of North Maharashtra will be mostly dry. The chance of rain is low here, and the maximum temperature may stay around 33 to 34 degrees Celsius. No major change in weather is expected in the next four to five days, so people may have to bear the sun.

Pune, Satara, Sangli, Solapur and Kolhapur districts of Western Maharashtra are also feeling the effect of hot weather. The maximum temperature here is expected to be around 32 degrees and the minimum around 21 degrees Celsius. The weather may change in some areas after the next two to three days, with light showers at isolated places. People waiting for rain are now looking to the forecast for the coming days.

Rain has stopped in Marathwada for the past few days, and the sun feels intense because of the dry weather. The maximum temperature has reached 34 degrees Celsius in some places. Humidity combined with rising temperatures may add to the discomfort. Hot and dry weather is likely to continue over the next few days as well.

Most districts of Vidarbha, including Akola, Amravati, Buldhana, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia and Nagpur, are expected to have hot and humid weather. The maximum temperature here may be around 34 to 36 degrees and the minimum around 24 degrees Celsius. There is no specific weather alert for these districts at present.

People have been advised to avoid going out in the harsh afternoon sun as far as possible, drink enough water and take precautions such as covering the head when going out. Given the changing weather, it is also important to keep track of the latest information from the local administration and the weather department.
