The Dombivli Government Railway Police (GRP) have arrested Sandeep Krishnan, the main accused in a murder committed in 1998, from Bihar after 28 years. The crime took place between Dombivli and Kopar railway stations. Two other accused in the case are still absconding, and the police are searching for them.

On December 14, 1998, the body of a man was found on the tracks between Dombivli and Kopar railway stations. The police initially suspected a railway accident. During the investigation, the deceased was identified as Shailesh More. As suspicion grew that his death was not an accident but a murder, the police registered a murder case.

According to information provided by Dombivli railway police, Shailesh More had divorced Sandeep Krishnan's sister. The two men had quarrelled over this. It is alleged that in this anger, Sandeep Krishnan and his two associates, Vinod Yadav and Vinesh Krishnan, gathered everyone on the pretext of a party and killed Shailesh More by crushing him with a stone.

The investigation found that after the murder, More's body was placed on the railway tracks to make the case look like an accident. The accused had fled, so the investigation took a very long time. With the main accused now in police hands after so many years, the old case has taken an important turn.

Under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Babasaheb Thorat of Dombivli GRP, the police traced Sandeep Krishnan and arrested him from Bihar. After the arrest, he was produced before the Kalyan court. The court has reportedly sent him to police custody.

The remaining two accused in the case, Vinod Yadav and Vinesh Krishnan, are still absconding. The police are searching for them and trying to arrest them as well. The arrest of the main accused in the 28-year-old murder is expected to speed up the investigation.
