Light showers are likely in some parts of Maharashtra, while most districts of the state will remain cloudy and feel warm. Air pressure is expected to be 1010 hectopascals on October 18 and 19. Rain is possible in some districts of Konkan, Marathwada, western Maharashtra and Vidarbha during this period.

Between October 20 and 24, rising air pressure is expected to reduce the chance of rain. Mornings will be mildly cool, and afternoons are expected to be warm and dry.

In Konkan, Sindhudurg may get 10 mm of rain, Ratnagiri 6 mm and Raigad 3 mm. No rain is forecast for Thane and Palghar. In western Maharashtra, Kolhapur may get 13 mm, Sangli 10 mm, Satara 9 mm, Pune and Solapur 6 mm each, and Ahilyanagar 1 mm.

In north Maharashtra, no rain is expected in Nashik, Dhule, Nandurbar and Jalgaon, and the weather will be dry in the afternoon. In Marathwada, Dharashiv may get 6 mm, Latur 5 mm, Nanded 3 mm and Beed 2 mm. Very little rain is forecast for Parbhani, Hingoli, Jalna and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

In Vidarbha, Akola and Washim may get very little rain. No rain is expected in Buldhana and Amravati. Wardha and Nagpur are forecast to get very little rain, while Yavatmal will stay dry. Chandrapur and Gadchiroli may get 2 to 3 mm. Rain will hold off in Bhandara and Gondia.

On temperatures, in Konkan the maximum may be 33 degrees Celsius in Sindhudurg, 34 in Ratnagiri, 35 in Raigad and 36 in Thane and Palghar. The minimum will be between 24 and 25 degrees.

In western Maharashtra, the maximum is forecast at 32 degrees in Kolhapur and Sangli, 34 in Pune and Satara, and 35 in Solapur and Ahilyanagar. The minimum will be 22 to 23 degrees. In north Maharashtra, the maximum will be 35 degrees in Nashik, 36 in Dhule and Nandurbar and 37 in Jalgaon. The minimum will be 24 degrees in all districts.

In Marathwada, the maximum may be 34 degrees in Latur and 35 in the other districts. The minimum will be between 22 and 24 degrees. In Vidarbha, the maximum will be 36 degrees in Akola and 35 in Buldhana, Washim and Amravati, with a minimum of 22 to 23 degrees. Wardha, Nagpur and Yavatmal are likely to see a maximum of 35 and a minimum of 23 degrees. The maximum may be 34 degrees in Gondia and 35 in Chandrapur, Gadchiroli and Bhandara, with a minimum of 23 to 24 degrees.

Rain is forecast to be low in October and November. With the water temperature near Panama in the Pacific Ocean reaching 30 degrees Celsius, the effect of El Nino could be stronger. On the other hand, a rise in the temperature of the western Indian Ocean to 29 to 30 degrees could mean a positive IOD partly reduces the intensity of El Nino. The Bay of Bengal is at 30 to 31 degrees Celsius, which could create favourable conditions for light rain. Even so, rain is expected to remain relatively low in October and November this year because of El Nino.
