Model Shraddha Dubey held in Nagpur over Lucknow cafe owner Shiva Sharma's death

Model and social media influencer Shraddha Dubey, named as the main accused in the alleged murder of Lucknow cafe owner Shiva Sharma, has been arrested in Nagpur. Officials confirmed that the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) and Lucknow Police carried out the operation jointly on Tuesday, October 20.

Her sister Rashmi Dubey and their driver Tanveer Ali, also known as Danish, were arrested with her. The three had been absconding since Shiva Sharma's death on October 9. A reward of Rs 50,000 each had been announced for information leading to their arrest.

The accused were reportedly traced to a flat in the Chinchbhuvan area of Wardha Road in Nagpur. Nagpur Crime Branch helped the Uttar Pradesh teams locate and apprehend them.

The case concerns the death of Shiva Sharma, 28. He is said to have fallen from the fourth floor of an apartment building in the Hazratganj area of Lucknow on October 9. His mother, Ranjana Sharma, then filed a complaint alleging that her son had been murdered. Given the circumstances of the death, police began investigating it as a suspected murder.

The case has drawn considerable public attention. Questions are being discussed about what happened before Shiva Sharma's death and what role those named in the case allegedly played.

Police teams had been looking for Shraddha Dubey and the other accused for 11 days. During this time, she allegedly posted videos on social media denying any role in Shiva's death. She claimed that Shiva had killed himself and was in financial distress. She also referred to alleged debts of his. These claims have not been established as fact, and the investigation is continuing.

The accused were sought in several places. The arrest in Nagpur after a long search is being seen as an important turning point in the investigation.

After the arrests, the three accused are expected to be taken to Lucknow for further investigation and legal proceedings. Police are reportedly completing the formalities for the required transit remand.
