Accused Shraddha Dubey is set to be produced before the Nagpur district court on Wednesday, October 21, in connection with the suspicious death of Lucknow businessman Shiva Sharma. Paperwork could not be completed on Tuesday night, and her production was deferred for that reason.

Uttar Pradesh Police may seek transit remand from the court to take Shraddha Dubey, her sister Rashmi Dubey and driver Danish, all three, to Lucknow. Further action will be decided only after the court's decision.

Transit remand is a form of judicial permission. It allows police to take an accused person arrested in another city or state to the jurisdiction of the court concerned. Here, UP Police may seek permission to take Shraddha and the other two from Nagpur to Lucknow.

The three were taken into custody on Tuesday. They were then brought to Beltarodi police station in Nagpur. As there was no lock-up facility there, Shraddha Dubey was shifted late at night to Hudkeshwar police station. All eyes are now on the court appearance and the transit remand.

The case began on October 9, when businessman Shiva Sharma died in suspicious circumstances at Awadh Green Apartments in Lucknow. He was found fallen from his flat. The circumstances of his death and the reason behind it are being investigated.

Shiva's family has made serious allegations against his live-in partner Shraddha Dubey. The family claims that disputes between the two had grown after their friendship, and that Shraddha was allegedly blackmailing Shiva. Shiva's sister had claimed that Shiva told her this over the phone, crying, on June 2. The allegations are being investigated.

Teams of Lucknow Police and the Crime Branch went to several places, including Sitapur and Lakhimpur, in search of Shraddha. Later, information came in that her Scorpio car had been found abandoned at Rupaidiha, near the India-Nepal border.

It was then feared that Shraddha had gone to Nepal with her sister and another person. CCTV footage had emerged from Mahim Nagar in Nepal, in which three people were seen heading towards a bus station. With the custody and court process now under way in Nagpur, it is hoped that the next direction of the investigation will be decided.
