The weather in Maharashtra is changing quickly after the withdrawal of the monsoon from the state. Rain activity has weakened in most parts of the state, and daytime temperatures are now feeling higher.
The weather is expected to remain mainly dry in many parts of Maharashtra on October 8. Some places may still see localised cloud cover, and a chance of light rain may persist.
In Mumbai, the sky is expected to remain mainly clear today. The maximum temperature in the city is likely to be around 35 degrees Celsius and the minimum around 27 degrees Celsius. Humidity may make the heat feel sharper during the day. Over the next few days too, Mumbai's maximum temperature is expected to stay around 35 to 36 degrees.
According to the weather department, the monsoon withdrew from Mumbai on October 3. The normal date of withdrawal from the city is October 8, which means the monsoon left about five days early this year. Since then, the effect of October heat has begun to grow in the city.
In Nagpur, a temperature of about 23 degrees has been recorded on October 8. The day's maximum is expected to be 30 degrees and the minimum 23 degrees. The sun will rise at 5:50 am and set at 5:36 pm. Humidity in the air is 92 per cent and atmospheric pressure is around 1015.
On air quality, Nagpur's AQI today is 102, which has been described as poor. The PM2.5 level is 56 and the PM10 level is 100.
In Pune, the minimum temperature today is expected to be about 22 degrees Celsius and the maximum around 34 degrees Celsius. Some clouds may appear in the afternoon or evening, but the chance of rain is low for now. In the coming days, Pune's temperature may reach around 35 degrees.
There is some relief for Vidarbha, with no major weather warning likely between October 8 and 14. In the interior parts of Maharashtra, however, the maximum temperature may rise to between 37 and 39 degrees in the coming days. Heat is now likely to be more evident than rain.
