Mahavitaran urges Chandrapur festival mandals to follow electrical safety for Navratri, Dhammachakra Day

Mahavitaran has appealed to public festival mandals in Chandrapur district to take full care of electrical safety. Navratri and Dhammachakra Pravartan Din are only a few days away. The utility said mandals should take electrical safety arrangements seriously so that the festivals pass off happily and without disruption.

Mahavitaran has advised that the electrical arrangements needed for lighting, pandals, garba, mahaprasad, Ravan Dahan and community meals should be made only through authorised electrical contractors. The same applies to the lighting, community meals and other programmes on Dhammachakra Pravartan Din, as well as the illuminations and tableaux of Navratri.

Office-bearers of public festival mandals have also been asked to keep the mobile numbers of the Mahavitaran engineer and the Janmitras in their area, so that they can be contacted immediately when needed.

Mahavitaran described public safety as important. Large numbers of people take part in Navratri, Dhammachakra Pravartan Din and other religious events. Several precautions have been listed so that their enjoyment is not spoiled and devotees can view the tableaux without any untoward incident.

First, mandals should set up lighting and procession tableaux so that they do not touch nearby electric wires and poles. Second, events such as garba and jagran should be kept away from the electrical installations.

A separate neutral must be taken for the power supply and for generators. Power should not be drawn by hooking wires onto nearby electric poles or power lines. The wire or cable used for the connection should be checked thoroughly to ensure it can bear the electrical load. Broken or loose wire should not be used, and if it must be used, it should be joined with certified insulation tape.
