Chinese electric vehicle maker BYD has officially launched its new flagship sedan, the Da Han EV, in China. The car is drawing attention in the automobile world for its looks and features.

Its biggest highlight is range. The base model offers a record 1,008 km (CLTC) on a single charge. The single-motor (RWD) version produces 496 hp and reaches 100 kmph from a standstill in 4.9 seconds. The more powerful dual-motor (AWD) version produces 764 hp and 910 Nm of torque and reaches 100 kmph in 3.3 seconds.

The car comes with the company's advanced flash charging technology, which can charge the battery from 10 per cent to 97 per cent in just nine minutes. For safety and ride, it offers the "God's Eye 5.0" driving system and "DiSus-A" dual-chamber air suspension.

On design, the front carries an integrated DRL light strip 2.41 metres long with 249 LED beads. The aerodynamic design gives a drag coefficient of 0.197.

The Da Han EV is a large luxury electric sedan. It measures 5,256 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width and 1,510 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,130 mm. Rear-wheel steering is standard, which keeps the turning radius of this large sedan at just 4.95 metres.

The cabin has a 40-inch AR-HUD, a 17.3-inch central screen and a Devialet sound system with 31 speakers. In China, the sedan's starting price is 2,35,900 yuan, which works out to roughly Rs 29.5 lakh.
