Mahindra has officially launched its first factory-fitted CNG car in the Indian market. The company has introduced the CNG version of its popular compact SUV Mahindra XUV 3XO under the name Mahindra XUV 3XO ZNG. After petrol, diesel and electric, Mahindra has now entered the CNG segment as well.

The car has a starting ex-showroom price of Rs 9.99 lakh. According to the company, it is the most powerful CNG car in the country.

It is powered by a 1.2-litre TCMPFi turbo-petrol engine, which produces 114 hp of power and 200 Nm of torque even in CNG mode. The company claims a mileage of 24.7 km per kg. The SUV can also go from 0 to 100 kmph in just 11.8 seconds.

Ordinary CNG vehicles run short of boot space, but this one does not. Like the Tata Nexon iCNG, Mahindra has used dual-cylinder technology. Two small cylinders are fitted under the boot floor, giving customers 270 litres of boot space. The spare wheel is fitted underneath the car. The dashboard has a CNG-petrol switch, and the digital instrument cluster shows the level of both fuels together.

Features include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.35-inch digital driver display, a 360-degree camera, a panoramic sunroof, leatherette seats and a Dolby Atmos sound system. For safety, it gets six airbags, disc brakes on all four wheels, a tyre pressure monitoring system and a strong reinforced chassis.

The variants and prices are: MX Edge ZNG at Rs 9.99 lakh, REVX Edge (O) ZNG at Rs 10.79 lakh, AX5 ZNG at Rs 11.19 lakh and the top model REVX A ZNG at Rs 12.27 lakh.
