Two severed legs found in garbage at Pimple Gurav; suspect held within 12 hours

Panic spread in the Pimple Gurav area of Pimpri-Chinchwad after parts of a human body were found. Two legs of a man were found inside a plastic sack in a heap of garbage. When police began their investigation, the deceased was identified as Anil Khade, 50. Police suspect that a friend of his killed him after a quarrel while drunk. Sangvi police detained the suspect, Vishnu Kumbhar alias Pintya, within just 12 hours.

The matter came to light at about 11 am on Friday, November 6. Garbage is left at a spot on the road from Katepuram Chowk to the Ramkrishna Mangal Karyalaya in Lane No. 3 of Shrinagar, Pimple Gurav. Municipal corporation workers were cleaning the spot when they saw a man's two legs, from below the knees, in a plastic sack.

Sangvi police reached the spot on receiving the information. The surrounding area was searched, and police also checked whether other parts of the body had been dumped. A dog squad was also used in the investigation, but at first police found no significant lead.

Police then examined the sack closely. A part of a mobile SIM card, carrying details linked to a mobile number, was found in it. On this basis, police contacted the contractor concerned. Questioning revealed that the SIM card had been issued to Anil Khade.

Police then reached his family. Identifying the deceased was difficult at first. However, when photographs on family members' mobile phones were matched with the legs found at the spot, police got an important lead.

As police gathered more information about Anil Khade, they learned that he was in close contact with Vishnu Kumbhar alias Pintya. Police began searching for the suspect. When the police team reached near Vishnu Kumbhar's house, there was a foul smell in the area. During a check of the house, they suspected a body was inside. On entering, they found Anil Khade's body. Initial examination showed that both legs of the body had been cut off.

According to police, the deceased had a deep injury on the head. Preliminary assessment is that a sickle and some iron object were used in the attack.

According to police's preliminary investigation, both Anil Khade and Vishnu Kumbhar were in the habit of drinking. Information has emerged that the two had a quarrel while drunk on the day of the incident. Police suspect the murder took place in this quarrel.

Police are still investigating why the body was cut up and dumped in different places, what the real motive was, and whether anyone else was involved. The incident has created an atmosphere of fear across the area. Only further police investigation will clarify the reason for the murder and the full sequence of events.
